Meet Araquel Bloss, our new campaign manager

Meet Araquel Bloss, our new campaign manager

Local resident and national progressive organizer, Araquel Bloss, to join the the Yatish Joshi for Congress campaign as Campaign Manager. Bloss, who resides in South Bend and graduated from Goshen College, has extensive national organizing experience. She was the co-creator and lead organizer of Occupy Inauguration, the 3-day protest and rally events in Washington, D.C., during the 2017 Trump inauguration. She also founded an organization focused on creating progressive and independent electoral coalitions around the country to support the election of progressive candidates and pass legislation for the people, by the people. She was a co-host and organizer of the People’s Convergence Conference held in Washington D.C. in September 2017. She has spoken at rallies and at conferences about her vision of uniting voters around policies which work for the people above and beyond political party.

Bloss stated she was convinced to join the Yatish Joshi campaign after several meetings with the candidate and his diverse, activist-centered campaign staff.  Bloss stated, “To meet Yatish, is to love Yatish.” She said, “Yatish embodies the spirit, ethics, and determination not seen since Bernie Sanders ran for president in 2016.” She believes Joshi’s campaign will fire up concerned citizens, local activists, and millennials alike to stay engaged in local and state politics. She believes Joshi’s story of immigration, struggle, and ultimate success has the potential to inspire people coast to coast.

As a South Bend resident, Bloss says she’s excited to be investing her efforts in a progressive candidate dedicated to bettering her own community. Her daughter attends a South Bend Community School and she says, like all parents, she’s worried about school safety, reduction of gun violence, affordable college education and health care. She was an active organizer and volunteer for the Bernie Sanders campaign in 2016 and saw first hand the local devotion for our communities. As to her new role as Campaign Manager, Bloss says, “I’m honored to be working with the people of Indiana’s 2nd District as a part of the Joshi for Congress campaign. Together, we can truly impact the direction of our state and nation.”
